Code execution via crafted text-file upload
Published Mar 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in ClassCMS 2.5 and earlier allows attackers to execute code by supplying a crafted .txt file to classupload. The \class\classupload component accepts the crafted text file as an upload and permits its contents to reach an execution path, although the exact faulty function is undisclosed. NVD characterizes exploitation as local and requiring user interaction, so execution depends on victim interaction rather than a demonstrated unauthenticated web request.
