CVE-2022-25569Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Root access via reusable embedded SSH key

Published Apr 4, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Hard-coded SSH credentials in Bettini GAMS Product Line 4.3.0 allow remote attackers to gain root access to DVR/NVR devices over SSH. The SGSetup client binary embeds a shared RSA private key and automatically uses it to open SSH sessions that download device configuration files. No prior authentication is required; remote attackers who extract the key from the downloadable client can alter camera configurations or stop video streams as root.
