Unauthenticated configuration disclosure via normal-user authorization
Published Mar 24, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Information disclosure in motionEye 0.42.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to read configuration data through GET /config/list. The configuration-list handler uses normal-user authorization rather than admin-only authorization, so an empty normal-user password admits unauthenticated requests. The exposed instance must leave that password unconfigured; the JSON response can reveal service credentials, authentication keys, email addresses, internal URLs, and storage details.
