Unauthenticated code execution via unrestricted PHP upload
Published Mar 15, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in CuppaCMS 1.0 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary PHP code through the public upload handler. The unauthenticated configuration endpoint writes .php into allowed_extensions, and the upload handler accepts a crafted multipart payload plus a ../ path into a web-accessible location. No user interaction is required; successful exploitation creates a web-reachable PHP shell that runs with the web server process's privileges.
