Application crash via unchecked scene field pointer
Published Jul 27, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
NULL pointer dereference in GPAC before 2.1.0-DEV allows local users to crash MP4Box by processing a crafted ISO media file. In scene_dump.c, gf_dump_vrml_simple_field reads mffield->count without first verifying that the scene field pointer is non-NULL. The user must invoke MP4Box's scene-dump path on the crafted file; successful exploitation terminates that process without disclosed data access or modification.
