Unauthenticated code execution via security_5g stack overflow
Published Mar 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC6 firmware 15.03.05.09_multi allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted security_5g value. WifiBasicSet processes the security_5g parameter without an effective length bound, causing the value to overrun stack storage. Network access to the router interface is sufficient; no credentials or user interaction are required, and successful exploitation compromises the device.
