Unauthenticated memory corruption via unbounded time parameter
Published Mar 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Buffer overflow in Tenda AC9 firmware 15.03.2.21 allows remote attackers to corrupt memory through a crafted time parameter. The saveparentcontrolinfo function processes the attacker-controlled time value without adequate destination-buffer bounds enforcement, causing an out-of-bounds write. The network path requires no authentication or user interaction; successful corruption can crash the router or alter process execution.
