Code execution via unchecked deviceId length
Published Mar 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stack overflow in Tenda AC9 15.03.2.21 allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted deviceId parameter. The saveparentcontrolinfo handler accepts an oversized deviceId value without enforcing the bounds of its destination stack buffer. An unauthenticated HTTP request is sufficient, and successful exploitation can crash the router or compromise its firmware process.
