Sensitive data exposure via request-body logging
Published Feb 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Information disclosure in HashiCorp Terraform Enterprise before v202202-1 allows remote attackers to capture sensitive data via logged HTTP request bodies. The ptfe_atlas container logged inbound request bodies containing newly created or edited workspace variables, while redaction did not fully remove sensitive values. Logs remain local by default; deployments with log forwarding enabled can transmit the captured data to configured external destinations.
