Unauthenticated code execution via BIRT document path
Published Sep 2, 2022 · Updated Nov 20, 2024
Path traversal in Apache OFBiz 18.12.05 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code through the bundled BIRT Web Viewer. The viewer's document handler uses the attacker-controlled __document value as an output path and writes content supplied through the sample parameter, permitting a JSP file under the web root. Access requires no authentication; successful requests corrupt or create server files and execute the planted JSP with the OFBiz process's privileges.
