Unauthenticated post metadata disclosure via query arguments
Published Aug 15, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Information disclosure in SearchWP Live Ajax Search before 1.6.2 allows remote attackers to read unpublished post titles and permalinks. The SearchWP_Live_Search_Client::search() handler copies request parameters into native WordPress query arguments, so a crafted post_status value selects nonpublic posts. No login is required; the demonstrated path uses native WordPress search and exposes titles and permalinks rather than post bodies or write access.
