Secure-supervisor code execution via unsigned module payload
Published Oct 19, 2023 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper signature verification in Texas Instruments OMAP L138 secure variants allows local users to execute arbitrary code in the TEE. The mask-ROM SK_LOAD routine authenticates only a module header, so a signed header can be reused with modified section data after checksum and obfuscation are reapplied. Exploitation requires high local privileges and the Customer Encryption Key obtainable through CVE-2022-25332, and a supervisor-marked header grants secure-supervisor execution.
