CVE-2022-25332

Customer encryption key disclosure via AES timing

Published Oct 19, 2023 · Updated Feb 27, 2025

Timing side channel in Texas Instruments OMAP L138 secure variants allows local users to recover the Customer Encryption Key. The mask-ROM AES implementation in SK_LOAD exposes ciphertext-dependent timing differences when cache contents are controlled and repeated inputs are measured. Exploitation requires local non-secure supervisor privileges and reveals the device CEK, with no reported integrity or availability impact.
