Administrator browser script execution via stored platform value
Published Feb 24, 2022 · Updated Feb 7, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in VeronaLabs WP Statistics 13.1.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to run scripts in administrators' browsers. The public hit REST endpoint accepts the platform parameter without sufficient sanitization, stores it with visitor data, and later renders it without adequate escaping on statistics pages. No account is required to submit the value, but an administrator must open an affected statistics view for the script to execute in that privileged browser context.
