CVE-2022-25298Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated arbitrary file read via static-file path traversal

Published Feb 18, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Path traversal in Webcc before 0.3.0 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary server files via crafted HTTP URL paths. The static-file serving path accepted attacker-controlled URL paths without constraining resolution to the configured document root, allowing traversal sequences to escape that root. Exploitation requires a Webcc host that exposes static-file serving; successful requests disclose files readable by the server process, without altering data or interrupting service.
