Password disclosure via unmasked environment-variable logging
Published Feb 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Information disclosure in JetBrains TeamCity before 2021.2.3 allows attackers to obtain password-type environment variables from logs. The logging path writes values explicitly marked as password data to log output instead of consistently masking them, although the specific path is undisclosed. Anyone able to read an affected log can recover the exposed secret values; JetBrains has not disclosed who can trigger the logging or what log access is required.
