Heap-based buffer overflow in Vim before 9.0.0061 allows local users to crash or corrupt the editor via crafted nested autocommands. During nested autocommand execution, Vim updates cursor and topline metadata without validating line bounds before ml_get accesses buffer storage, enabling out-of-bounds heap access. Exploitation requires a local user to open or execute crafted Vim content with autocommands enabled; consequences include process crash and potentially attacker-controlled memory corruption.
