Incorrect buffer-size calculation in LibTIFF 4.4.0rc1 allows remote attackers to crash tiffcrop via a crafted TIFF file. The rotateImage() path accepts mutually incompatible -S and crop or rotation options, corrupting heap state before limitMalloc() reaches a sysmalloc assertion. The utility must process crafted TIFF data with conflicting arguments; the demonstrated consequence is process abort, not code execution.
