Controller file disclosure via unchecked remoting callable
Published Feb 15, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Path traversal in Jenkins HashiCorp Vault Plugin 336.v182c0fbaaeb7 and earlier allows attackers to read files from the Jenkins controller. VaultTokenFileCredential.getToken passes its configured path to FilePath.act with an empty remoting role check, enabling agent-initiated controller reads. Exploitation requires control of an agent process and Jenkins 2.318 and earlier or LTS 2.303.2 and earlier; the documented impact is file disclosure only.
