CVE-2022-25188Network attack vector

Controller file overwrite via unsanitized Pipeline parameters

Published Feb 15, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Path traversal in Jenkins Fortify Plugin 20.2.34 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to overwrite controller XML files. The appName and appVersion Pipeline parameters construct filenames inside build directories without sanitizing traversal sequences. Item/Configure permission is required, and the attacker can choose the destination XML path but cannot control the written content.
