Denial of service via unchecked BPG extension lengths

Resource exhaustion in Apache Tika before 1.28.2 and 2.0.0 through 2.3.0 allows attackers to interrupt parsing via a crafted BPG file. BPGParser trusts each extension-record length, casts it to an integer, and allocates an XMP byte array without enforcing a maximum. The crafted file must reach BPGParser through an application or user-initiated parse; excessive allocation exhausts the JVM heap and terminates the Tika process.
