Unauthenticated service interruption via dm_checkString overflow
Published Feb 25, 2022 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Integer overflow in TP-Link TL-WR840N(ES) firmware 6.20_180709 allows remote attackers to interrupt service via a crafted HTTP request. The dm_checkString function processes a crafted userDomain field in libcmm.so and reaches an integer overflow while handling the request. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the documented consequence is service interruption rather than data access or modification.
