Root command execution via unsanitized RAID type
Published Aug 20, 2023 · Updated Oct 8, 2024
OS command injection in TerraMaster Operating System through 4.2.30 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands as root. The createRaid method passes the untrusted raidtype value through volume_make_from_disks and _backexec to popen without sanitizing shell metacharacters. Exploitation requires valid authorization and timestamp headers, which the companion information-disclosure flaw enables remote attackers to derive.
