Stored script execution via unsanitized SVG uploads
Published Jul 22, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Microweber before 1.2.21 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through crafted SVG uploads. The SVG upload path in plupload.php marked an SVG as valid even when its sanitizer failed, preserving attacker-controlled active content in the served file. Administrative privileges and victim interaction are required; script execution can read or modify data available to the victim's browser session.
