CVE-2022-24948Network attack vector

Browser script execution via unescaped wikiUserName meta tag

Published Feb 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Cross-site scripting in Apache JSPWiki 2.11.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to run JavaScript in a victim's browser. The user-preferences flow inserts an attacker-controlled wikiUserName value into an HTML meta tag without entity escaping. Exploitation requires a victim to load the resulting page; script execution can expose browser-accessible information or modify content in the victim's session.
