CVE-2022-24934Known exploitation

Code execution via user-writable updater registry settings

Published Mar 23, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Code execution in Kingsoft WPS Office through 11.2.0.10382 allows attackers controlling a device to run malware through its updater. The wpsupdater.exe process trusts a user-writable HKEY_CURRENT_USER setting to select its update server, then downloads and runs an executable from that server. Exploitation requires prior control sufficient to alter the current user's registry hive; it provides persistence and arbitrary executable delivery.
