CVE-2022-24928

Kernel defense bypass via disabled RKP flag

Published Mar 8, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Security misconfiguration in the kernel of selected Samsung Mobile Devices on Android 11 allows local users to bypass RKP protection. A disabled kernel configuration flag leaves Real-time Kernel Protection inactive instead of enforcing its normal kernel-memory safeguards. The vendor identifies selected Android 11 devices as affected but does not disclose the local attack path or the operations exposed without RKP.
