CVE-2022-24885Public exploit

App-lock bypass via incorrect activity counting

Published Apr 27, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025

Improper access control in Nextcloud Android Files before 3.19.1 allows physically proximate attackers to bypass its app lock. PassCodeManager counts passcode and credential activities toward the app activity total, letting repeated reopenings escape the locked state. An unlocked Android device with the optional app lock enabled is required, and bypass exposes client content protected by that lock.
