CVE-2022-24847Network attack vector

Administrator-level code execution via unrestricted JNDI lookup

Published Apr 13, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

JNDI injection in GeoServer before 2.19.6 and 2.20.0 through 2.20.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code. Security and data-source configuration paths pass administrator-supplied JNDI names to unrestricted lookups that deserialize attacker-controlled classes. GeoServer administrator access through the web interface or REST API is required, after which code runs in the server process context.
