Uploaded-image disclosure via predictable filename counters
Published Apr 11, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Information disclosure in HedgeDoc 1.9.1 through 1.9.2 allows remote attackers to read uploaded images via predictable URLs. The /uploadimage route lets Formidable 2 name each file with a per-process hexoid prefix plus an incrementing counter, and the prefix changes only after restart or 256 uploads. Any network client that can reach uploaded files can enumerate neighboring names; Lutim and imgur backends are not affected.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
