CVE-2022-24825Network attack vector

Deny-list bypass via noncanonical hostname comparison

Published Apr 19, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

SSRF in Stripe Smokescreen before 0.0.3 allows remote attackers to bypass hostname deny lists using case variants or trailing dots. The hostMatchesGlob function compares request hostnames with configured ACL globs without first lowercasing them or removing a legal terminal dot. Exploitation requires access to the proxy and a deny-listed destination; a successful bypass permits outbound requests that the ACL was configured to block.
