Wiki-wide script injection via missing programming-right check
Published Apr 8, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025
Privilege escalation in XWiki Platform allows remote authenticated users with edit rights to create globally executed SSX or JSX. The skin extension path accepts global SSX or JSX objects from editors without enforcing the Programming Right required for wiki-wide execution. Any account with edit rights can place script or style content on every wiki page, requiring a subsequent page view and exposing data visible in the visitor's browser.
