Cross-site scripting in Wire Web App before 2022-03-30-production.0 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through a viewed message. The renderMessage code-highlighting path returned a mention-containing code block without escaping it, allowing attacker-controlled HTML into the rendered page. The recipient must receive and view the malicious message; execution occurs in the recipient's session and grants control of the account.
