CVE-2022-24781Network attack vector

Session takeover via unchecked UUID rebinding

Published Mar 24, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Session fixation in math-geon Geon before 1.1.0 allows remote authenticated users to take over another player's session via a UUID. The backend Updater handler accepts a client-supplied oldUserId and rebinds the matching active player record to the requester's socket without authenticating ownership. An attacker must first access a game and learn another player's exposed UUID; successful spoofing makes both users co-owners of the same session.
