CVE-2022-24775Network attack vector

Header injection via unvalidated carriage returns

Published Mar 21, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Improper HTTP header validation in Guzzle PSR-7 1.8.3 and earlier and 2.0.0 through 2.1.0 allows remote attackers to inject headers. MessageTrait::normalizeHeaderValue trimmed spaces and tabs but failed to reject carriage returns and other forbidden control characters before storing header values. Exploitation requires a consuming application to place attacker-controlled data into PSR-7 header names or values; crafted carriage returns can split serialized headers and alter downstream HTTP messages.
