Configuration hijacking via drive-root repository search

Uncontrolled repository search in Git for Windows before 2.35.2 allows local users to load attacker-controlled configuration via C:.git. Repository discovery walks to the drive root and accepts C:.git as the repository directory, causing Git to honor its config for commands launched elsewhere. Exploitation requires a multi-user machine where an untrusted account can write to the same drive and a victim operation triggers repository discovery, allowing attacker-controlled settings to alter Git behavior in the victim's context.
