Message disclosure via unchecked iframe origins
Published Mar 14, 2022 · Updated Sep 18, 2024
Origin validation error in sysend before 1.10.0 allows remote attackers to read cross-origin messages through a malicious iframe. The iframe message handler accepted sysend postMessage events without checking e.origin, while outbound messages used a wildcard target origin. A victim must open an attacker-controlled page in the same browser as an application using cross-origin communication; exposed content is limited to messages sent on that channel.
