CVE-2022-24757

Session hijacking via full-header error logging

Published Mar 23, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Sensitive-data logging in Project Jupyter Jupyter Server before 1.15.4 allows local users to read authentication cookies from logs. The log_request function serializes every request header after a non-502 5xx response, including credential-bearing values, rather than using a restricted allowlist. A client must provoke the server error, and a local user with log-read access can reuse an exposed credential to access the affected server.
