Airdrop theft via unauthorized IBC claim migration
Published Mar 7, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Authentication bypass in Evmos before 2.0.1 allows remote attackers to drain unclaimed airdrop funds through a malicious IBC chain. The claims-module IBC receive callback migrated claim records for packets from any destination channel instead of restricting address attestations to authorized channels. Exploitation requires an attacker-controlled chain with signature checks disabled and an IBC connection to the target, enabling withdrawal of another address's unclaimed funds.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
