Denial of service in Istio before 1.11.8, 1.12.0 through 1.12.4, and 1.13.0 through 1.13.1 allows remote attackers to crash istiod. The validating and mutating webhook handlers read an unbounded HTTP request body, permitting oversized or deeply nested regular-expression input to exhaust the Go process stack. The unauthenticated TLS endpoint is normally cluster-internal on port 15017; public exposure makes the service interrupt remotely reachable.
