Browser script execution via unencoded module attributes
Published Jul 22, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in Microweber before 1.2.21 allows remote attackers to run script in a user's browser through crafted module parameters. ApiController::module() placed request-data keys and values into generated HTML attributes without attribute-context encoding; the patch sanitizes data and encodes metacharacters. No authentication is required, but a user must load attacker-influenced content; successful execution can read or alter data available to that browser context.
