Device tracking via unauthenticated paging and LMP queries

Information disclosure in Bluetooth Classic through 5.3 allows physically proximate attackers to identify non-discoverable devices. The paging and Link Manager procedures accept a recovered address fragment, establish a short connection, and return the remaining MAC bytes, name, version, and capabilities. Radio-range access with a software-defined receiver and Bluetooth transceiver is sufficient to track a device or reach pre-authentication services without user interaction.
