Authenticated folder-name disclosure via unchecked folder ID
Published Feb 9, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Incorrect access control in Mahara allows remote authenticated users to read other users' folder names through the Files area. The artefact/file/index.php page accepts a folder query ID and displays the referenced folder's name without enforcing ownership. Any signed-in account that learns or guesses another account's folder ID can expose only its name in 20.10 before 20.10.4, 21.04 before 21.04.3, and 21.10 before 21.10.1; file names and contents remain inaccessible.
