CVE-2022-24681Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Browser script execution via unsanitized welcome name

Published Apr 7, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Stored XSS in ManageEngine ADSelfService Plus 6120 and earlier allows attackers to execute script in a user's browser via a crafted name. The /accounts/authVerify page renders an Active Directory user's first or last name without sanitizing HTML when showing the welcome name. Execution requires control of that identity attribute and the user or an impersonator to open a password reset, password change, or account unlock flow, exposing the page and its browser-accessible data.
