Unauthenticated code execution via SLP buffer overflow
Published Mar 28, 2023 · Updated Feb 19, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Canon Color imageCLASS MF644Cdw 10.02 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through SLP requests. The SLP implementation copies attacker-controlled data into a fixed-length stack buffer without first validating its length. The attacker must reach the printer's SLP service; no authentication is required, and successful exploitation runs code with root privileges.
