CVE-2022-24672

Adjacent-network code execution via CADM heap overflow

Published Mar 28, 2023 · Updated Feb 19, 2025

Heap-based buffer overflow in Canon Color imageCLASS MF644Cdw 10.02 allows remote attackers to execute code through the CADM service. The service copies attacker-controlled data into a fixed-length heap buffer without first validating its length, causing an overflow. Exploitation requires adjacent network access but no authentication or user interaction, and successful exploitation runs code as the service account.
