Arbitrary file disclosure via URL path traversal
Published Jul 20, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Path traversal in Goldshell ASIC Miner firmware 2.2.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to read arbitrary device files over HTTP. The root-run web interface accepts dot-dot segments in requested URLs and resolves them outside the web root, exposing configuration and password files. Reachability requires access to the miner's port 80; disclosed consequences are file reads, including plaintext web-interface credentials, with no reported write or execution primitive.
