Unauthenticated code execution via upnpd stack overflow
Published Mar 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stack overflow in NETGEAR upnpd on EX6100v1 201.0.2.28, CAX80 2.1.2.6, and DC112A 1.0.0.62 allows remote attackers to execute code. NETGEAR has not disclosed which upnpd request handler or unchecked memory operation lets input exceed the stack buffer. Exploitation requires local-area-network access but no authentication, and successful exploitation executes arbitrary code on the appliance.
