Stored cross-site scripting in Backdrop CMS 1.21.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary web scripts or HTML via the Add Link function. The function fails to sufficiently sanitize interface text supplied while adding links to existing content, allowing the payload to persist and execute when rendered. Exploitation requires a role permitted to create content, files, accounts, taxonomy terms, views, or layouts, and a victim must load the affected content.
