Process crash via unchecked VRML multifield pointer
Published Mar 14, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
NULL pointer dereference in GPAC 1.0.1 allows context-dependent attackers to crash MP4Box while converting a crafted MP4 file. The BIFS text-dump path in gf_dump_vrml_field reads mffield->count without checking whether the multifield pointer is null. Triggering the flaw requires MP4Box to process the file with its BIFS text-dump path, and the demonstrated consequence is a process crash.
